Aw, this really was one of the best events I’ve ever hosted. So nice that so many of you wanted to join! It was really, really cool.
A few weeks ago, on the very nicest of late summer nights, I had the pleasure of seeing around twenty-thirty of you guys at a small intimate concert with Nicklas Sahl. A young guy from Hadsten in Jutland, aged 21, with a preeeety neat organ. The purest voice, the calmest mood. He’s quite a star – headed for the skies.
In my collaboration with Warner Music, I’ve been hosting a few of their ‘label nights,’ a night where the record labels sort of present the names they’re backing for the coming season. And last winter, back in January/February, Nicklas was one of them. I think he had signed his first record contract that same day – or was it the following day? Either way, it was all very new, and suddenly he was standing there and playing a few tunes for all of the music/radio industry – pretty overwhelming, so I imagine.
But nothing gets to Nicklas. He’s Jutland through and through – something that’s also clear from the interview (in Danish) below. SO charming and sympathetic – and with a pretty rare determination.
I’m sure you’ve heard New Eyes over the summer – his second single; and there’s more from him HERE. With more on the way. We’re actually due on the same day, haha! His debut EP will be released on 12 October – the very same day as I’m reaching my full forty weeks – fingers crossed for the both of us, hehe…
THANK YOU for a really lovely late summer night to those of you who made it. The light was completely divine, as you see from the pictures. The second Nicklas ended his mini concert, the sun disappeared in the horizon. It was magical. And thank you for the chats and the hugs – I was high for days. And they’ve promised me we’ll get to do it again.
